Crocodile

After two and a half years the Nile crocodile is ready for slaughter. The meat at this time is believed to be at its most juicy and tender and considered a real delicacy

The only meat sold from a crocodile is from the tail as the rest is considered to tough to eat. Although the meat looks like monkfish in both consistency and colour, crocodile meat does not in any way taste of fish, in fact it tastes more like sweet chicken and is therefore suitable for most chicken recipes. The meat only requires a short preparation/cooking time and therefore is suitable for barbecues, pan frying or grilling. Crocodile meat is extremely low in cholesterol and fat. Compared to beef or veal its about half per 100g
